Doha: Khalid Cement Industries Complex (KCIC) yesterday announced that it has been awarded the National Ready Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA) Green-Star certification for its application of an environment management system, which considers the proper implementation of procedures and systems to conserve the environment while producing concrete.
This makes KCIC the only company in Qatar to achieve such high prestigious certification and only the second in the entire Middle East to achieve such a recognition. The certificate is presented to support the efforts of the ready- mix concrete industry that have achieved and are actively working towards environmental excellence and a demonstrable reduction of environmental impacts, following the principals of sustainability.
